I've known Alexa since we were in 4th Grade!!  We were in an after-school care program together at the local YMCA in our hometown of Wilton, Connecticut where we became quick friends.  We went to school together through high school, and hadn't seen each other since our graduation in 2008!  We both went to different colleges in New England, but thanks to Facebook, we were able to stay connected (thank goodness for social media, am I right?)!

I don't even think Alexa had made it to the 24-hour mark of being engaged when she reached out to me asking about my availability to photograph her engagement session.  She explained that she had been following my work for a few years on Facebook, and knew long before Peter had ever proposed that she wanted us to photograph the two of them.  To say I was completely honored was an understatement!  Tod's Point in Greenwich is a special spot for Alexa and Pete, so it seemed natural for their engagement session to take place there!  Needless to say, I was so excited for Arturo to meet one of my oldest childhood friends!

In early 2014, Alexa and Peter both found themselves swiping left and right on an app called Tinder.  Never could they have imagined Tinder would be the thing to bring them together, but here they are, less than a year away from their wedding!  The two shared their first date together on Valentine's Day 2014 at a local restaurant in Danbury, Connecticut.  They felt an instant connection and each knew they had found their life partner!  Alexa and Pete's bond continued to grow and flourish after getting their first apartment together, and their lives became fully intertwined.  They both had each other to lean on for support during the ups and downs of life, which led them to discover their absolute love for Vermont.  Alexa and Peter found themselves visiting every few months for a chance to breathe in the fresh air, explore and relax.  After multiple moves, changing of jobs, accomplishments and victories, the couple found themselves back in Alexa's hometown of Stamford, Connecticut. As fate would have it, the move to Stamford was the best one they've ever made!  It encouraged them to explore their new surroundings, as they began to hike, play tennis, go to concerts, spend time with friends and truly enjoy every moment with one another.  In early July, Peter proposed with the most beautiful diamond ring from Ken & Dana Design on the tennis court where Alexa used to go to camp as a child (her beautiful engagement ring fits perfectly with the ethereal vibe of their Essex, Vermont wedding next year!)!  That evening, the two celebrated their engagement at a Trevor Hall concert, dancing and singing the night away!

Despite the Indian Summer we had, Alexa and Pete were total troopers during their engagement session!  We started off at a secluded part of the beach, away from the crowds enjoying the summer-like weather in the early fall.  We continued further into the park, finding patches of the most romantic evening light as the golden hour hit its peak!  At the very end of the Point, we found two Adirondack chairs which faced the Long Island Sound, making a perfect spot for Alexa and Peter to take a break and soak in the start of the sunset.  As we made our way to the exit of Tod's Point, we were sent off with one of the most amazing and colorful sunsets I've seen all year!

Congratulations Alexa and Peter!!  Wishing you lots of love and excitement during this special season in your lives together!

When did you know you'd found "the one"?

"We both knew right away.  Honestly, even before we actually met for the first time.  The way that we were texting and our communication was a pure connection.  It wasn't forced or awkward, it was like we were talking to a life-long friend.  That was validated on our first date, but also when Pete accidentally walked me into the restaurant's closet instead of the exit door.  I laughed and knew we would be in for an adventure together."

What's one thing you love about your partner?

Alexa: "His individuality, sense of humor, tenacity, determination, kindness, wittiness, giving heart and desire to protect."

Peter: "Her kindness, empathy, sense of responsibility for others, and ability to see the best in everything."

Besides getting married, what are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?

"We are looking forward to having everyone that we love around us at the same time, as well as celebrating our love with the love around us as we enter the next chapter in our relationship.  We are also pumped for the food!"

What's one thing you're looking forward to about marriage?

"As husband and wife, we look forward to living in the moment. Enjoying the next stage of our relationship and building our family together."
