A WAVENY HOUSE ENGAGEMENT SESSION

There’s something pretty magical about the way love can make two people forget everything else around them. When you add an early fall afternoon, beautiful gardens, and the timeless architecture of Waveny House in New Canaan, Connecticut, you have all the ingredients for an unforgettable engagement session.

Located in Waveny Park, Waveny House creates a stunning backdrop for engagement photos no matter the season. From lush summer greenery to colorful autumn foliage and even the quiet beauty of winter, there’s something about this historic estate that makes every gallery feel effortlessly romantic.

For Arianna and Brandon’s engagement session, we had that perfect combination of warm light and beautiful surroundings that made everything feel fresh. While these two admitted they were a little unsure about being in front of the camera, you would never know it by looking at their photos. Almost instantly, they fell into the swing of things!

We started by wandering around the grounds of Waveny House, taking our time and letting the session unfold naturally. Rather than jumping straight into perfectly posed portraits, we focused on movement, conversation, and simply giving Brandon and Arianna the space to be themselves. Before long, their nerves disappeared.

There were plenty of laughs, playful moments, and those little in-between interactions that are often my favorite part of an engagement session. A quick glance. A genuine smile. The way Brandon pulled Arianna a little closer. The kind of moments that don't feel staged because they aren't. Plus their chemistry; it was impossible to miss!

Every time these two looked at each other, their connection came through in their portraits. They had that effortless balance of being playful one minute and completely wrapped up in each other the next, which made photographing them so much fun.

As we moved around the estate, Waveny House gave us a little bit of everything: elegant architecture, manicured gardens, and gorgeous natural light. It’s one of those locations where you can create a gallery that feels varied without ever having to go far.

By the end of their Waveny Park engagement session, I think Arianna and Brandon had officially forgotten there was a camera around... and truly? That’s exactly what I hope for. Your engagement photos don’t need to feel like a performance. They should feel like you: laughing, moving, flirting, cuddling, and enjoying this season of your relationship together.

Brandon and Arianna’s Waveny House engagement session was the perfect reminder that you don’t have to know what to do in front of the camera. You just need to show up, be yourselves, and trust the process. Everything else, you can leave to me.

These two are getting married in June at The Inn at Longshore, and I cannot wait for their day to arrive! Congratulations Arianna and Brandon!
