Sammy and Mike met when she would frequent the restaurant and café which Mike family owns. He spotted her one day at The Harborview Market in Bridgeport, CT, and the rest is history! This past November, they were married at The Lace Factory, a beautiful wedding venue in Deep River, CT located along the Connecticut River. It was unseasonably warm for that mid-autumn evening, but it added to the perfection of their wedding day! I don't think Sammy and Mike stopped smiling once that day, understandably so with all of the love that surrounded them!
I must say, this is one of the most unique and stunning weddings I've ever photographed! It definitely had a much more modern style than most of my other weddings do, but there were certainly timeless and classic elements as well. Sammy envisioned a different take on flowers for her bridesmaids; instead of traditional bouquets, she asked her florist for hoop bouquets, and she got just that! Even Mike's suit jacket matched perfectly with the wedding florals. To top it off, Sammy's Rue De Seine wedding gown paired wonderfully with the industrial wedding theme the two had planned.
They started at The Water's Edge Resort & Spa in Westbrook, CT to get ready for the day's festivities. Sammy and Mike shared one of what I consider to be the sweetest first looks of all time! We later headed up to The Lace Factory for more portraits, where their adorable pup even made an appearance! Their wedding ceremony was officiated by Mike's father, adding even more to the personalization of the day. Sammy and Mike wrote their own vows, which was followed by a romantic first kiss and ceremony exit! Heartfelt speeches were given by the maid of honor and two best men, followed by the parent dances which made for some of the most emotional moments of the evening. The dance floor remained packed for the rest of the evening as their guests celebrated the bride and groom all night long!
Congratulations Sammy and Mike!
This little lady on petal patrol was definitely one of the cutest parts of the day!
Look at the audience they had for their first look! Mike shouted to them, "Look at her, doesn't she look beautiful?! Give her a round of applause!"
Sammy's cathedral length veil had me swooning all day!
How gorgeous are these florals?! I loved the unique idea Sammy had for her bridesmaids' hoop bouquets!
This was by far one of my favorite ceremony settings of 2017!
The new Mr. & Mrs!
Hands down, The Lace Factory has one of the most beautiful reception spaces of many wedding venues in Connecticut!
Sammy's dad continued a family tradition by getting all 200+ guests involved in singing a celebratory song which his uncle had written many years ago!
