AN INTIMATE WINTER WEDDING AT A PRIVATE RESIDENCE IN NEW CANAAN, CONNECTICUT
There is something incredibly special about photographing an intimate wedding, especially one that takes place at home in the early days of winter. December weddings have a charm all their own, and this sweet celebration captured that magic beautifully. Salina and Chris’s early winter wedding was the perfect reminder that weddings don’t need to be grand in size to be deeply meaningful. Their day was cozy, heartfelt, and filled with intentional moments that reflected exactly who they are as a couple!
Chris and Salina chose to celebrate their marriage at their home in New Canaan, Connecticut, surrounded by a small group of their closest family members. Their living room was transformed into the most beautiful ceremony space: warm, inviting, and filled with love. The setting made every moment feel even more personal, from their vows to the quiet smiles exchanged between family members seated just a few feet away.
One of the most touching moments of the ceremony was when Salina’s mom joined via FaceTime. Even though she couldn’t be there in person, her presence was felt in such a meaningful way. It was a perfect example of how modern technology can bring loved ones together, no matter the distance.
As if the day couldn’t have been more magical, the first snowfall of the season arrived the night before their wedding! By morning, the landscape surrounding Salina and Chris’s home was blanketed in fresh, untouched snow, creating a true winter wonderland. The soft winter light paired with the snowy backdrop made for the dreamiest portraits: quiet, romantic, and timeless. The newlyweds embraced the cold with ease, laughing together as they took in the beauty of their first moments as husband and wife.
There’s something so refreshing about slowing down and focusing on what matters most. Chris and Salina’s day wasn’t about a packed timeline or elaborate traditions; rather, it was about love, family, and the joy of beginning a new chapter together.
