A SUMMER WEDDING AT PINE ORCHARD YACHT & COUNTRY CLUB

There’s something undeniably magical about a coastal Connecticut wedding in the heart of summer. The salty breeze drifting in from the Long Island Sound, sailboats gliding across the water, and golden evening light have a way of making every moment feel a little more romantic. Devon and Kevin's Pine Orchard Yacht & Country Club wedding in Branford, Connecticut was everything Arturo and I love about shoreline celebrations: relaxed, joyful, and filled with meaningful moments that reflected exactly who they are.

From the very first time we met these two, it was clear that Kevin and Devon aren't just in love, they're truly best friends. Photographing them during their spring engagement session at Southport Harbor earlier this year was a clear indication of the fun their wedding day would be!

The day couldn't have been more perfect. We were gifted with one of those rare summer days with crystal-clear skies, absolutely no humidity, and a cool coastal breeze that made every outdoor moment feel effortless. It was the kind of weather every couple dreams about, setting the stage for a celebration that felt as lighthearted as it was beautiful.

During their first look, Kevin shared one of the sweetest surprises we've ever photographed! Hidden inside the lining of his suit jacket was a custom fabric printed with different love notes Devon had written him throughout their relationship. It wasn't something guests would immediately notice, but that's what made it so special. It was deeply personal; a quiet reminder that their relationship has always been built on thoughtful gestures, encouragement, and genuine friendship. Watching Devon discover it was one of those moments that perfectly captures why we love documenting weddings!

Their ceremony took place at the charming Pine Orchard Union Chapel, just around the corner from the Pine Orchard Yacht & Country Club. Nestled among the shoreline homes of Branford, the little white chapel felt timeless and intimate, creating the perfect setting for the bride and groom to exchange vows surrounded by the people they love most.

Throughout the ceremony, they couldn't stop smiling at each other. The laughter, happy tears, and playful glances between them made it obvious that they are a beautiful match. There was never a moment that felt forced. Instead, the day unfolded naturally, allowing their personalities to shine in every photograph.

Afterward, everyone paraded their way to Pine Orchard Yacht & Country Club, led by the saxophone player of Devon and Kevin's wedding band! Guests were welcomed with stunning waterfront views and the relaxed elegance that makes this venue such a favorite for Pine Orchard Yacht & Country Club weddings. Between the coastal scenery, warm summer sunshine, and beautiful reception details, every corner offered the perfect backdrop for celebrating.

Some of our favorite portraits happened simply because Devon and Kevin were having so much fun together. They laughed constantly, wandered hand in hand along the shoreline and marina docks, and embraced every quiet moment away from the excitement of the reception. Those candid moments always become our favorites because they tell the real story of a wedding day.

As the sun began to set over the water, the celebration continued with heartfelt toasts, a packed dance floor, and a joyful energy that filled the room. It was a wedding that wonderfully reflected who Devon and Kevin are: warm, playful, genuine, and completely in sync.

Kevin and Devon, thank you for trusting us to document such an incredible day. Your love is effortless, your friendship is inspiring, and your wedding was a beautiful reminder that the best celebrations aren't about perfection, they're about being fully present with the person you love most!

THE LOVE STORY

Like so many modern love stories, Devon and Kevin's began thanks to someone who knew they would be a perfect match long before they did. Devon's longtime hairdresser, Rachele, had been doing her hair for years. Coincidentally, Rachele also happens to be married to one of Kevin's brothers. For years, she would tell Devon all about her "cute brother-in-law" who lived in New Hampshire, insisting that the two of them needed to meet someday. When Devon finally became single, Rachele decided the timing was right and declared, "It's time for you and my brother-in-law to meet!"

The day before Thanksgiving in 2023, Rachele gave Kevin Devon's phone number. Just a few hours later, while Devon was sitting in Rachele's salon chair getting her hair done, her phone buzzed. It was Kevin!

The two spent the next week texting nonstop before finally meeting for their first date at a local restaurant in Guilford, Connecticut over spicy margaritas. By the end of the evening, Kevin walked Devon to her car, kissed her goodnight, and from that moment on, they were inseparable.

As if one date wasn't enough, Kevin texted her after she got home asking if he could see her again before heading back to New Hampshire. The very next morning, they met for coffee, squeezing in one more date before saying goodbye.

For Devon, there was never much doubt. The night after their first date, she wrote in her journal and texted her friends that she had just met the man she was going to marry, and she was right!
