A MADISON BEACH HOTEL ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Arturo and I had a fabulous time photographing Kate and Jeff’s engagement session at the Madison Beach Hotel! These two are so sweet and absolute naturals in front of the camera. Kate grew up in Guilford, Connecticut, so she and Jeff decided to split their session between the Guilford Town Green as well as the beautiful coastline in the neighboring seaside town of Madison. Both Guilford and Madison are picturesque Connecticut communities that I love photographing our couples in. It was a treat for Arturo and me to be able to capture some romantic engagement photos for Jeff and Kate in these dreamy New England coastal towns!
They shared a bit about their wedding plans with us, and let me tell you, friends, it is going to be a fantastic celebration! From the grander parts of the day to the smaller details, Jeff and Kate are truly planning a wedding that is true to them.
THE PROPOSAL STORY
Jeff’s wedding proposal to Kate came during a wonderful time in their lives together as they were in the midst of closing on their dream home in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Kate and Jeff had always talked about getting a Cape house one day, and by chance, they found a home they loved earlier this year! The stars truly aligned for these two, and at a very rapid rate!
After their offer was accepted on the house, Kate’s family was in town visiting for the weekend. Jeff was able to set up a showing of the house so he and Kate could show her family their future home. Once they’d finished touring the inside, Kate and Jeff walked her family down the path to their beach. It was then, and much to her surprise, that Jeff got down on one knee and proposed!! He said to her, “I love you so much. I’m so excited about our new house and the rest of our lives together. Will you marry me?”
Kate immediately began to cry and scream with excitement! Seconds later, she looked to her left and Jeff’s family was running towards them with champagne, gifts, and beaming smiles on their faces. The rest of the weekend was spent celebrating their engagement with their two families!
These two are getting married next October at the Guilford Yacht Club in Guilford, Connecticut, and I cannot wait for their day! Congratulations Kate and Jeff!
When did you know you'd found "the one"?
Kate: “When Jeff and I started dating, it just felt right, right away. It was like we started building our relationship from day one, it was never causal. We knew each other for years prior and were friendly but I always knew deep down there was something different about him.”
Jeff: “When we snuggled on the couch for the first time.”
What's one thing you love about your partner?
Kate: “His laugh. When he really laughs his eyes get squinty and he has the biggest smile… It’s contagious.”
Jeff: “There are so many things, but her big blue eyes and millions of freckles.”
Besides getting married, what is one thing you're looking forward to on your wedding day?
Kate: “Being on the dance floor and dancing with all our loved ones. It's the first thing I picture when I think about our reception.”
Jeff: “Having all our favorite people in the same place at the same time.”
What's one thing you're looking forward to about marriage?
Kate & Jeff: “Starting a family.”
