Harbor Point Engagement Session in Stamford, CT | Nika & Javier

Arturo and I had been looking forward to photographing Nika and Javier's engagement session at Harbor Point in Stamford, Connecticut since they booked with us this summer!!  Javier is a fellow tenant in our studio building, 305 Knowlton, and is one of the kindest people I know.  When Arturo and I met Nika in mid-July, we instantly saw how perfect these two are for each other!  They're truly in love and totally smitten, complimenting each other in so many wonderful ways!

When it comes to lighting, we've been so lucky with the past few engagement sessions we've photographed!  The sun has definitely been on our side, without a single cloud to cover it.  As the sun set behind the buildings around us, a beautiful glow cast over the water, reflecting onto the boats in the marina.  The four of us walked around Harbor Point together, chatting about the details of their upcoming wedding day.  Nika told me about the candlelit ceremony they're planning and their gorgeous floral designs, both of which had me swooning!

Earlier this year, Nika and Javier were on vacation in North Carolina together, enjoying the fresh spring air from the warmth of the hot tub at their vacation home.  Javier told Nika he needed to go inside and get something, so she said she'd go with him.  Thinking they were finished with the hot tub for the day, Nika went into the closest to grab a sweatshirt to block the chill of the early spring air.  As she turned to return outside, there was Javier, down on one knee exclaiming, " I can't wait," holding a box with a beautiful engagement ring!

These two sweethearts are getting married at Bedford Post Inn in Bedford, New York next month and we couldn't be more excited to see them tie the knot!

When did you know you'd found "the one"?

Nika: "It was one very specific night when we were chatting.  Javier said something and I distinctly remember thinking, "Wow, we are so connected!"  It was that very moment that I remembered a reading that I had had a couple months prior (it was actually my very first psychic reading) and the medium indicated that there was someone who had been admiring me on and off for several years.  She further stated that it would work out very well.  At that time she asked if I knew who that person was and I emphatically said yes!  I suspected it was someone I had known since college.  However, in that moment when we were talking and I felt that we were so connected I sat up and said, "YOU'RE the one!  You're the one she was talking about!"  Javi looked at me like I was crazy and then I had to admit to him that I actually was talking about some psychic reading I had."

Javier: "It was the very first time I kissed her.  I waited eight years for that moment but never imagined that I would feel something so strong."

What's one thing you love about your partner?

Nika: "He is so loving to all."

Javier: "Her personality is amazing."

Besides getting married, what's one thing you're looking forward to on your wedding day?

Nika: "The first time he sees me."

Javier: "When she enters the room in the white dress."

What's one thing you're looking forward to about marriage?

Nika: "Being his biggest supporter and loving him always."

Javier: "Starting a beautiful family forever."
