Private Residence Wedding in Old Greenwich, CT | Michelle & Danny

A PRIVATE HOME WATERFRONT WEDDING IN OLD GREENWICH

Michelle and Danny were married at her parents’ home in the picturesque Connecticut town of Old Greenwich. Their June wedding radiated the charm and elegance of New England while embracing a fresh, vibrant spring color palette. I first spent some time with these two last summer during their Tod’s Point engagement session in Greenwich, Connecticut; five minutes into their session I knew their wedding day was going to be an incredible one!

Every aspect of their wedding was meticulously planned to reflect a modern garden party. Michelle was a classic and graceful bride who looked absolutely stunning in her Amsale bridal gown. Her bridesmaids, who wore soft pastel floral dresses, exuded an air of elegance and sophistication. Danny and the groomsmen complemented the overall aesthetic with tailored light gray suits, contributing to the refined yet relaxed atmosphere.

We started our day with Michelle and her bridesmaids as they got ready for the festivities ahead. Once Michelle was in her wedding gown, she and Danny met on the back lawn for their first look. These two are laid back as can be, and we just loved photographing these special moments for them!

Once the portraits were finished, it was time to get these two married! To honor each of their family backgrounds during their wedding ceremony, Michelle’s cousin read a poem in French, while Danny’s cousin read a poem in Spanish. I always tell our couples how important it is to personalize their wedding day to reflect them, and they did just that!

The newlyweds were celebrated under a sailcloth tent, which was situated on the back lawn overlooking the water. Greenery climbed the tent poles and bistro lights were strung over the dance floor, which created a fun and relaxed environment for their guests. Danny and Michelle’s decision to have the wedding at her parents' house added a personal touch, creating an intimate and warm atmosphere that resonated throughout the day.

They chose a lovely color palette for their wedding, featuring a delightful blend of bright pops of color, mirroring the blooming flowers and vibrant nature surrounding the area. Corals, yellows, pinks, oranges, and touches of ivory came together harmoniously, evoking a sense of freshness and romance. These hues were infused into every detail, from the floral arrangements to the more personal details, giving the entire celebration a cohesive and ethereal feel.

Flowers played a pivotal role in creating the garden party ambiance that Michelle and Danny envisioned for their wedding reception. The floral arrangements were a true masterpiece, combining abundant blooms with lush greenery. Peonies, roses, and African proteas adorned the tables in low centerpiece arrangements, adding a touch of natural beauty to the tented space.

It was a treat to document the joy and happiness shared by the couple and their loved ones. From the sweet exchange of vows to the excitement on the dance floor, each moment was a testament to Danny and Michelle’s genuine love for one another. The laughter, tears of joy, and heartfelt speeches showcased the deep connections and lifelong bonds that were celebrated that day!

THE LOVE STORY

Michelle and Danny met when they were both working at the same corporate job and were seated in nearby cubicles. When their company later decided to adopt an open floor plan, the pair ended up sitting next to each other. They soon became friends, and eventually best friends, before leveling up their relationship to a beautiful romance.

Congratulations Michelle and Danny! Wishing you many happy years ahead!
