A CLASSIC SUMMER WEDDING AT THE INN AT LONGSHORE
Alyssa and Todd’s summer wedding celebration at the Inn at Longshore in Westport, Connecticut was an incredible one! These two are sweet as can be and full of endless joy. Their smiles barely left their faces all day! Back in September 2019, I photographed their engagement session at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay, New York, and what a wonderful time I had with them. That was when I knew that their wedding day was going to be spectacular! Due to the pandemic, little did any of us know we’d have to wait almost two years for their day to arrive, but it was well worth it!
We started our day with the bride and groom at the Delamar Southport in Fairfield, Connecticut where they each got ready for the day ahead. While Todd spent some time with his groomsmen in their suite on the second floor, Alyssa and her bridesmaids were in the penthouse getting their hair and makeup done. Once she was dressed, Alyssa planned to do a first look of sorts with her girls so they could see her in her gown for the first time. When they knew she’d be stepping out of her room, they chanted her name louder and louder, which eventually transitioned to clapping with pure joy and excitement when they finally saw her!
Their ceremony took place at a nearby church with one of the longest aisles we’ve ever seen. Rows of pews were packed with guests who had waited a long time to see Todd and Alyssa become husband and wife. I’ve been photographing weddings for over 10 years, and never have I ever heard a crowd of guests cheer SO loudly for newlyweds at the end of a wedding ceremony! It was one of my favorite parts of Alyssa and Todd’s day, and they certainly deserved this extra burst of joy from their loved ones!
The newlyweds were celebrated by friends and family with heartfelt toasts, fantastic music, and endless dancing at the Inn at Longshore that evening. These two were on the dance floor every chance they had, and what a spectacular way it was to finish up their day with loved ones!
THE LOVE STORY
In 2012, Todd and Alyssa met while they were both coaching women’s lacrosse at rival universities. Little did Alyssa know that Todd was crushing on her! Later that year, they coached against each other in the final four, which Alyssa’s team won. A few weeks later, Todd reached out to her asking if she wanted to work at a girls’ lacrosse camp in July of 2013. She agreed, and they saw each other again that summer.
A few days after camp started, all of the coaches went to lunch, but Todd didn’t attend because he was at a wedding in Chicago. However, the entire time he was away, Todd was texting Alyssa! That following week the two had their first date, and it was a fantastic night for both of them where the conversation flowed easily. What a sweet pair these two are!
Congratulations Alyssa and Todd! It was an honor to photograph your wedding and the first day of marriage together. Cheers to many more!
