Greentree Country Club Wedding in New Rochelle, NY | Samira & Angel
Angel and Samira danced the night away with 250 guests at their Greentree Country Club wedding last weekend in New Rochelle, New York. Samira’s family is Greek, so I knew their wedding celebration was going to be one for the books! It was a hot and muggy day, but that didn’t stop everyone from packing the dance floor every chance they got.
A GREENTREE COUNTRY CLUB WEDDING
Let me tell you, Angel and Samira have STYLE! Samira had a timeless and elegant bridal style, complete with her long hair perfectly curled and cascading down her back. Angel looked incredibly sharp, and had some of the best shoes I’ve ever seen a groom wear! Upon our start to the day, Arturo and I both knew that these two had carefully planned their wedding day fashion.
As Samira walked down the aisle with her dad, Angel saw her for the first time that day and his eyes instantly filled with tears. Their Greek wedding ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and one of my favorites to date! Samira and Angel shared their first kiss, smiled at each other with looks of pure excitement on their faces, and walked back up the aisle as their family and friends cheered around them.
We had the most beautiful light for wedding party and newlywed portraits at Greentree Country Club! Despite the summer heat and humidity, Angel, Samira, and their wedding party were complete troopers. You’d never know how hot it really was! Samira’s bridal look was completed with a cathedral length veil, which I knew would be perfect for an epic “veil-blowing-in-the-breeze” portrait. A big thanks to Ashley from Aced Events who tossed Samira’s veil in the air, because we all know that humidity = zero breeze here in the northeast! To finish off their romantic portraits, Angel and Samira slipped off their shoes and took a few steps on the beach together, a perfect nod to their coastal wedding venue!
From the first dance, to the father-daughter dance, to any spare moment in between, everyone kept the energy levels up and the party going late into the night! I know Greeks know how to celebrate, but these wedding guests proved that point and more!
THE LOVE STORY
Samira and Angel’s love story began back in 2010, when they met through mutual friends. Some flirtatious banter was exchanged back and forth over drinks at a local restaurant in Stamford, Connecticut, and phone numbers were shared. Angel and Samira’s first date included dinner at a latin fusion restaurant, and seeing the movie, Inception, which remains a favorite of both of theirs to this day! One week later, the Samira and Angel spent the week together on Nantucket, and their journey as partners began! Nine years worth of memories later and they’ve moved in together, traveled North America and Spain, and celebrated many milestones in life. Late last year Angel and Samira welcomed their beautiful baby boy, Cyrus, into the world and introduced one furry pup, Baxter, to their family.
