DELAMAR SOUTHPORT WEDDING

Alissa and Brett celebrated their wedding day with an intimate group of friends and family at Artisan Restuarant located in the Delamar Southport hotel in Fairfield, Connecticut. Their wedding day reminded Arturo and me quite a bit of our own; we had also gotten married on a chilly October afternoon with plenty of rain. However, the weather didn’t steal the joy from these two one bit! They each had smiles beaming from ear to ear all day, and well into the evening!

I met Alissa last year, and she always gushed about her [then] boyfriend, Brett. This summer they got engaged, and Alissa reached out the very next day asking us to photograph their wedding! I had a wonderful time photographing their engagement session at Southport Harbor this past August because the two of them share a beautiful connection. It was a treat to have these two back in front of our cameras again this fall!

This year has certainly taught me to appreciate the beauty of small and intimate weddings. Brett and Alissa were surrounded by 23 of the most important people in their lives as they exchanged their rings and said their I Do’s. The day was filled with personal and meaningful details and the absolute DREAMIEST wedding florals! Most importantly, the newlyweds planned a celebration that reflected them 100%!

THE LOVE STORY

Brett and Alissa met in the middle school cafeteria when they were in 7th grade. They sat at separate tables with their friends, but Brett’s table of friends was constantly harassing Alissa's table of friends. Even so, their relationship managed to grow into a friendship. They stayed close through high school but never dated each other. The two even went to the Red & White dance together in their senior year!

Once in college, they fell out of touch but would check in with each other every once in a while. In 2017, Brett was visiting their Connecticut hometown where Alissa still lived so the two decided to get together to catch up. They call it their first “not date”, even though it probably looked like a date to everyone else! Alissa and Brett’s second “not date” was in Boston, where he happened to be living at the time. Their friendship began to grow stronger once again and they finally became a couple in the spring of 2018, on Brett’s birthday! For the next nine months, they had a long-distance relationship but made things work as they took turns driving between their hometown and Boston. In early 2019, things changed and they moved in together for good!

Congratulations Alissa and Brett! Cheers to endless love and laughter in the years ahead!

I absolutely loved Alissa’s classic bridal style!

They’re MARRIED!! How sweet is that little post-first kiss nuzzle?!

The way Brett looks at Alissa… oh my heart!

These wedding florals from Carrie Wilcox Floral Design were nothing short of DREAMY!
