Cranbury Park Family Photography Session in Norwalk, CT

A CRANBURY PARK & GALLAHER MANSION FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION

In recent years, as more of our previous wedding couples have grown their families, photographing fall family sessions for them has been such a highlight for me. Between the colorful leaves, crisp autumn air, and that cozy feeling that comes with the changing seasons, it’s one of my favorite times of the year to photograph families. Some sessions are especially meaningful, and Jackie and Beau’s fall family session at Gallaher Mansion in Cranbury Park in Norwalk, Connecticut was definitely one of them.

Arturo and I had the honor of photographing their wedding back in 2023, so getting to see them again this fall, this time with their adorable little boy in tow, was such a treat! It’s always a little surreal to see our wedding couples step into a new chapter of life, and getting to document those moments is one of the best parts of what we do.

I met up with Beau and Jackie at Cranbury Park, where the beautiful grounds and autumn scenery made the perfect backdrop for their family portraits. One of the things I love most about photographing past wedding couples is how comfortable everything feels when I see them again. There’s already a connection there, and instead of feeling like a formal photo session, it feels more like catching up with old friends while documenting a new season of life.

And their little guy? He made the session even sweeter! From the moment we started, he was all smiles, happily waving at everyone he saw. If there was someone nearby to greet, he was ready with a little wave! His friendly personality made capturing genuine moments feel effortless, and I couldn't help but smile right along with him.

While the fall colors and beautiful setting at Cranbury Park were lovely, the moments between Jackie, Beau, and their son were what really made this session special. Their little boy is such a cuddly sweetheart, and he absolutely loved being tickled by his parents. There were plenty of giggles, playful moments, and snuggles that served as a wonderful reminder why family photography is about so much more than getting everyone to look at the camera at the same time.

I encouraged Beau and Jackie to simply enjoy their time together, whether that meant scooping up their little guy for a hug, making him laugh with a few tickles, or soaking up those sweet in-between moments. Those interactions brought out the kind of natural smiles and genuine expressions that make family photos feel like your family.

Those are often the photographs that become the most meaningful over time. The little expressions, the way your child fits perfectly in your arms, and the laughter you might otherwise forget in the busyness of everyday life. Fall always seems to fly by, especially when little ones are growing and changing so quickly. That's one of the reasons I love fall family photography sessions in Connecticut. They give families a chance to slow down for a little while and preserve a snapshot of life exactly as it is right now.

Jackie and Beau, thank you for inviting me back to document another chapter of your story! Photographing your wedding in 2023 was such a joy, and getting to meet your sweet, smiley little boy made this Cranbury Park family session even more special!
