Best of 2020

Whew, we made it through 2020! What Arturo and I thought was going to be our biggest and most successful year for Shaina Lee Photography turned out to be the most challenging. Our season was looking good, with each of our weddings evenly spread throughout the year. We even had opportunities for a few vacations during some of our busiest months!

But as we all know, 2020 had other ideas in store for everyone. Plans were changed, weddings were postponed, and travel was canceled. However, with all of the changes that the year brought to our wedding season (as well as terrible amounts of heartache to our couples), Arturo and I are so thankful to be able to say that we didn’t lose any of our couples to wedding cancellations. While many postponed or downsized their weddings, they each checked our availability before securing a new date, and for that, we’re eternally grateful!

The first few months of the pandemic were quiet. Arturo and I kept up with the news and paid extra close attention to the state safety guidelines on gathering sizes. As summer approached, our calendar began to fill up with elopements, micro weddings, and intimate celebrations as well. By the time November rolled around, we finished the season with 25 couples whose wedding days we were able to document, just a few shy of our original 2020 number.

It’s been a few years since I did a “Best Of” blog post, so it seemed like a better time than ever to share the highlights of an otherwise less-than-wonderful year. Enjoy a few of my favorite days from 2020!
