Jackie and Beau’s romantic fall wedding was the last of our September weddings, and we couldn’t have asked to end the month on a higher note! Everything from a beautiful floral design to a sweet couple with impeccable taste made this day one for the books.

Jaclyn and Andrew’s coastal New England wedding may have taken place on one of the hottest days of the summer, but my oh my was it a dreamy celebration! Lindsay and Kyle’s coastal summer wedding was one for the books! The day was filled with nothing but pure joy, which meant that excitement and happiness trickled down to everyone who surrounded the bride and groom that afternoon. When I mentioned to Lindsay how relaxed she and Kyle were all day, she replied, “We get one day. We’re not going to stress about anything now, but rather enjoy every second of it!”

Meg and John’s intimate wedding at Windrift Hall in West Coxsackie, New York will go down in history as one of our all-time favorites! When they reached out late last year to inquire with us, I immediately knew the day they were planning was going to be an absolutely beautiful one.

Jillian and Keith were married at their home in West Hartford, Connecticut among their closest family and friends. They share a deep love for Hawaii and decided to bring the vibrant colors of the tropical islands into their elegant wedding design!

Kate and Jeff’s tented wedding at the Guilford Yacht Club was an absolute DREAM! Guilford, Connecticut is a delightful coastal town with quintessential New England charm. Throw in some autumn sunshine and a seaside breeze, and you have a recipe for a beautiful wedding day!

Lauren and Nick’s fall wedding at The Ryland Inn in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey was what dreams are made of! They are an absolute power couple; with Lauren’s attention to romantic and elegant details, and Nick’s organizational skills, these two planned an incredible wedding day!

Ashley and Jim’s wedding celebration at Jonathan Edwards Winery went down in the books as one of our favorite weddings we’ve photographed. Their vineyard wedding was absolutely perfect from start to finish!

A coastal New England spring is undeniably romantic. The salty breeze, the soft gray skies, the quiet charm of historic streets; it all creates the kind of atmosphere that feels straight out of a love story. Devon and Kevin’s engagement session at Southport Harbor and the historic streets of Southport Historic District was exactly that!

Annie and Mike’s coastal engagement session at Greenwich Point Beach took place on a lovely spring evening in mid-April. I love waterfront locations for portraits when spring hasn’t 100% sprung, and this area never disappoints!

The architecture of Central Park’s Bethesda Terrace and Bow Bridge never disappoints, while also doubling as a beautiful backdrop for photos. The sun had just risen, casting a soft, golden light across the scenery of the park and into Lily and Ian’s engagement photos!

Just as Arturo and I were about to start Hendrick and Tyler’s engagement session, the skies suddenly turned dark. Luckily it only drizzled, and just for a few minutes at that. Just as the storm passed, the skies lightened up and the sunshine popped out from behind the clouds, creating the most perfect springtime glow!

The love and joy Emily and Lenny share are simply contagious! The light that evening was dreamy as ever, giving us one of the most beautiful golden hours we’ve had this fall.

Mother Nature has been delivering us some lovely summer evenings this year! We had the most magnificent light and golden glow during James and Ashley’s engagement session. Waveny Park is one of my favorite spots for engagement sessions because there are a wide variety of great spots for portraits, so no session is ever the same!

Beautiful light, an amazing couple, and a quintessential New England neighborhood helped Arturo and me to create magic for Jaclyn and Andrew’s Southport Harbor engagement session! When all of the components for a perfect portrait session come together, I’m just absolutely giddy with delight!

Part of being a wedding photographer is navigating the weather, including rainy and cloudy days. If you’ve been reading our blog for a while, you know I love a good overcast day for photos. The evening of Haley and Rob’s engagement session turned out to be a drizzly one, and our conflicting schedules meant rescheduling their session wasn’t an option. Instead, it gave me and Arturo the chance to get a little extra creative with choosing a new location for their engagement photos!

Yale University is beautiful all year-round, but for those of our couples who are planning an engagement session or wedding during the late fall, winter, and early spring months, it’s the PERFECT portrait location for stunning and equally romantic photos. Though the leaves had fallen off the campus trees and there wasn’t a whole lot of greenery left after some of the chilly December days we’ve had this month, Yale certainly didn’t disappoint as its buildings served as a perfect backdrop to Steve and Sam’s engagement portraits!

Lindsay and Kyle’s engagement session was an autumn dream! The air was crisp and cool, and the sun beautifully illuminated the fall foliage on the surrounding trees.

These two drove into New Haven bright and early for their 7am engagement session. Nick and Lauren are an easygoing couple and were up for just about anything. Right off the bat, these two fell seamlessly into every prompt and pose that we directed them to, which made photographing their engagement photos that much more fun!

After you get engaged and the wedding planning begins, it’s easy to get caught up in everything you have to accomplish to pull together your big day. Setting a budget, making a guest list, venue hunting, booking vendors… the list goes on. However, as you embark on the journey of wedding planning, these basics are quite often overlooked!

For months, there’s an endless flow of planning that happens to ensure you have a wedding that will become one of the best days of your lives together. Stress is inevitable during the planning process (even if it’s just a small bit), but have no fear! It’s quite possible to avoid any stress on your actual wedding day!

After photographing countless weddings, and learning the differences between great wedding prep locations and the not-so-good ones, I’ve compiled a list of things you’ll want to ensure your space has for dreamy detail shots and portraits!

Until many couples get into the nitty-gritty of planning the timeline of their day, there aren’t too many who think about how their ceremony, allotted portrait time, and cocktail hour actually correlate! They often don’t realize that fitting family portraits, wedding party portraits, AND portraits of the two of them into a 30-minute window aren’t realistic. There are many details to consider when planning different parts of your wedding day, and I hope this post helps give you some additional insight into planning with your wedding photography in mind!

With elopements and intimate weddings happening all over the world due to the current pandemic and limitations on gathering sizes, I was inspired to put together a list of some of my favorite venues that would be perfect for weddings of these sizes!

Many of our brides dream of an epic “veil-blowing-in-the-wind” photograph on their wedding day, and they’re some of my favorite portraits to create! I want all brides who dream of these portraits to have them, so I’m sharing the two main factors of what makes a great bridal veil for these shots!

It seems like so many different publications have their own list of arbitrary questions couples should be asking their potential photographer, but do all of the people writing these articles have any actual experience as a wedding photographer? Why waste precious minutes going over details that ultimately won’t make a difference or benefit you in the end? Your time is valuable, especially while you’re in the middle of wedding planning and trying to find the perfect photographer who fits with the two of you!  The following list of questions is what Arturo and I have found to be most significant while chatting with our couples about their wedding photography. These are REAL questions asked by our REAL couples!

While some of our couples know they definitely want to share a first look together on their wedding day, others are a bit more hesitant, which we totally understand! There are so, so many positive ways doing a first look impacts your wedding photography timeline, so I’m sharing them here. This post will be especially helpful for those of you who are having your cocktail hour start as soon as your wedding ceremony ends!

Some couples love to have their wedding reception exit photographed, and adding a fun element like sparklers add extra visual interest to their photos. After photographing countless exits like these, I wanted to share a few tips on how to make the most out of your sparkler exit while ensuring you get wonderful photos to go with it!

Many couples focus on the tiniest of details to make their day unique which I love!  When this kind of thought is put into a wedding I hate to see part of the budget, no matter how big or small, blown on details that no one notices (just speaking from experience here!).  I'm sharing some wedding decor upgrades that are totally worth it; ones that will add even more impact to your wedding photos and certainly wow your wedding guests!

For some couples, a wedding planner is one of the first vendors (if not the first) they’ll hire to help with the planning of their big day.  Other couples may not fully see a planner being a worthwhile investment for their wedding.  If you and your partner happen to fall into the latter category, I want to explain a few reasons why you shouldn't quickly dismiss the idea of hiring a wedding planner!  As a photographer, I’ve photographed weddings where a planner was on site and others that didn’t have one involved.  In my overall experience, weddings that did have a planner always result in a much more relaxed (and less stressful!) day than those without.

More than ever, I've recently had a quite a few of my clients inquire about bringing their dogs to their engagement sessions.  I always tell them to bring their furry friends along with them, because it allows your session and photos to be more personalized!  I've come a long way from the first session I ever photographed with a couple and their pup, and have gathered a few tips to prep my clients (and their fur babies) to make sure their session goes smoothly!
