Happy New Year, friends! I can’t believe the new year is here and 2022 has officially come to a close. Last year was a wild one for sure, filled with growth, learning opportunities, and plenty of excitement for Shaina Lee Photography. In 2022, Arturo and I intentionally only took on a fraction of the weddings we had in 2021, yet both years still felt equally as busy!

This past wedding season was a shorter-than-normal one for us, starting in April and ending in October. However, we photographed our couples’ engagement sessions from February through December! We celebrated our 2022 couples on their wedding days while meeting most of our 2023 couples in person for the first time at their engagement sessions. Arturo and I have loved the quality time we’ve had with our clients to get to know so many wonderful people, which makes this career of ours even sweeter.

In 2022, I also took on a few maternity sessions, in-home newborn sessions, and even a family session for previous a few of our SLP couples. We’ve made weddings our main offering over the last few years but photographing these other portrait sessions made me realize that we still have more to offer our clients after their wedding day (something Arturo has been trying to convince me of for a couple of years now). For that reason, we’ve decided to open a few select dates on our calendar for family sessions in 2023!

Arturo and I are endlessly grateful for our couples and their families who continue to inspire us year after year while supporting this small business of ours. There are lots of exciting things happening for Shaina Lee Photography in 2023, and we cannot wait to see what the year ahead holds in store.
