Happy Friday! Today I'm excited to add a new category to my wedding planning series, one that will help you find the perfect gifts for your bridesmaids and groomsmen (and possibly the perfect accessory to your wedding day, too)! Today's featured artist is Lindsay Bolcar, the creative mind behind Lindsay Brook Designs, an Etsy shop filled with bow ties and vintage headbands. I originally connected with Lindsay through the Rising Tide Society, an international group of amazingly talented creatives. As soon as I saw her shop, I KNEW there would be plenty of brides and grooms who would love to add her accessories to their wedding day attire (I mean, come on... How adorable are these 2016 Pantone Color of the Year inspired bow ties?)! Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Lindsay now runs her business in Birmingham, Alabama, where she lives with her husband and two children. Her story is wonderful, and one I absolutely adore, "About a year ago, I started making baby clothes and other items from refashioned fabrics I found at local thrift shops. I loved the thrill of finding a beautiful fabric that was unwanted or had a small defect in its current form, but would find new life as a headband, bow tie, or hair scarf! This inspiration is still the driving force behind the day to day runnings of my shop, although I do now stock many items made from fabrics I buy new. It is important to me to reuse when I can, and I think my customers appreciate that, and love that their new accessories are truly unique."

The great thing about Lindsay's designs is that they can be worn after the wedding (and even before if you can't wait until your wedding day!). She says that her Classic Indigo Chambray Hair Scarf (pictured above) is one of her favorite products in the shop, "It is one of the first items that I made and listed in my shop, and it is a truly versatile accessory. It's long enought to wrap twice around your head as a headband, or even to wear as a sash-type belt with dresses or blouses, which I love. I feel like it's an accessory that never goes out of style, and I pair it with many of my favorite outfits."

The same could be said about the bow ties! Look at all of those great colors! There are countless style options for a groom and his groomsmen before, on and after the wedding day. Lindsay says her bow ties are popular for weddings, "...especially for little boys who are part of the wedding party, although my men's bow tie line is growing in popularity this year. I'm finding that grooms are especially excited to find self-tie bow ties in fun, cotton prints and solids. My bow ties are something that you can't find a department store, and I think that connects with a lot of my clients, who are looking for a unique finishing touch. I recently added a coordinating pocket square to a custom order, so if a client has a request, I'm happy to do my best to make it happen. In addition, any of my hair scarves make great bridesmaid gifts, or would even be lovely as sash accents for the big day."
