I must say, my 2016 wedding season certainly ended with a bang! Monica and Kevin's wedding day was beautiful from start to finish and went off without a hitch. This gorgeous winter wedding is definitely going down in the books as one of my favorites! Their day was filled with plenty of personal touches, and most importantly, love and support from family and friends. Monica and Kevin both come from large, wonderful Portuguese families, who I instantly fell in love with upon meeting them on the wedding day!

The two met over six years ago through his sister, who happens to be best friends with Monica's cousin. The day before Monica was about to leave for a trip to Portugal for two weeks, she met with her cousin, who dropped the news that Kevin had his eye on her! Monica remembers that Kevin was someone who she'd barely had a conversation with, but thought he was so handsome! When Monica returned from Portugal, she and Kevin went on their first date. He even remembers the dress she wore and what she ordered! Is that not adorable?!

They were married at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Fairfield, Connecticut, where their exchange of vows was witnessed by many friends and family members. We headed to Twin Brooks Park in Trumbull for some bridal party and romantic portraits before heading to Aria to celebrate the newlyweds. This was the first Portuguese wedding I'd ever been to, let alone photographed. Let me tell you, they are SO MUCH FUN! I loved the music and watching everyone dance! The smiles and laughter were definitely contagious!

I was in love with all the personal touches of this wedding day, especially the hair pieces that Monica, her mom and her sister wore. They were all made from her mom's original wedding veil!
