Today I am so excited to be introducing you to my friend Karina, the owner and lead designer at EZ-Occasions! I've worked with Karina several times over the past year, and I just love seeing her event designs come to life! EZ-Occasions is a family-owned event design and rentals business based in Waterford, Connecticut. They offer rentals and luxury event design services for weddings, corporate, and social events in New England. Their design services include ceiling draping, backdrops, wall liners, tent draping, stage draping and much more. Their rental services range from elegant tents to tables, chairs, china, glassware, linen and more! I recently chatted with Karina during her Vendor Love interview, and I can't wait for you to learn more about her and EZ-Occasions!
Tell me a bit about you and your business! How did you get started in the wedding industry?
"After 4 years of working for the corporate world, I decided to continue my education and moved to Barcelona, Spain for my Masters in Business Administration. While abroad, I had the privilege of traveling to amazing mind-blowing places and was exposed to beauty, architecture, color, and nature. Because of that my creativity and passion for event design were reignited. After my return to the United States, I enrolled in an intensive event design course in California. With the guidance of a family member that had experience in the event industry and having a solid background in business myself, I launched EZ-Occasions."
What do you love most about your craft?
"I absolutely enjoy designing proposals. I let my creativity and visions run before I come up with a design. By pairing my clients’ ideas with my design expertise, I am able to create a design that translates their lifestyles and personalities into extraordinary celebrations."
What should couples know about your process and about working with you?
"Couples should know that my goal will always be to create a design that reflects their personalities, evokes their emotions, and carries lifelong memories. "
What is your favorite part about working with couples who are planning their wedding day?
"My favorite part after working with couples is their feedback after the event. Their words of gratitude and their happy pictures are just PRICELESS. "
What (or who) inspires your creativity?
"Traveling and all the experiences that come with it not only inspired me to open EZ-Occasions but every time I visit a new place and look at all the décor and beauty around me, I start to visualize an event come to life with all of the elements from the place. "
How early should couples book you to ensure you'll be available for their wedding day?
"I recommend couples book my services as soon as they pick a wedding venue. The venue is one of the most important pieces in order to start designing the event. Although we’ve only been in business for two years, our calendar has booked up quickly this summer. So the sooner, the better!"
What is one tip or piece of advice you'd give a couple for their wedding day?
"It sounds cliché but I always tell my couples to just ENJOY their special day. They have already worked so hard to secure professional vendors for their special day and have done all the homework, so they should have nothing to worry about. I always tell my brides 'Dance until your feet hurt, have an awesome time and just let us shine for you on your wedding day.'"
