Non-Traditional Bachelorette Party Ideas

top-ct-nyc-destination-wedding-engagement-photographer-shaina-lee-photography-photo-1.jpg

Last year, I wrote a post called Wedding Planning for Bridesmaids.  I'm adding to the list of topics I talked about in that post, but today I'll only be focusing on the planning of the bachelorette party (usually one of the most fun parts of being a bridesmaid)!  While there are plenty of brides-to-be who want a night out with her best girls to celebrate, there are many more who don't want to go the traditional route when it comes to the bachelorette party.  After seeing many brides-to-be stray off the traditional route, I've rounded up some fun alternative ideas which I'm so excited to be sharing with you today!

1. Spa Day
A calm and relaxing day at a luxurious spa is perfect for any bride-to-be who is the opposite of a party girl.  Facials, mani-pedis and massages with her favorite ladies may be just what she needs to de-stress and unwind from the months of wedding planning she's been through!

2. Creative Classes
If the bride-to-be wants her bachelorette party to have a tad more excitement, find some creative classes that are offered the night you're planning the party for.  A paint night is always fun for people of all creative skill levels.  My friend Alicia, the incredibly talented artist behind Art Simplicated, offers Sip & Paint events.  She brings the art supplies, you bring your favorite bottle of wine and it's a party!  A jewelry making class would also be fun for the DIY bride; she might even make her wedding day jewelry!  Search for local artists who may offer small classes or events.  Not only are you supporting a small business, but you'll also learn a new skill too!

3. Broadway Show
Who doesn't love a good Broadway show?  Whether it's a musical, a play or something more dramatic, the talented actors of Broadway will always pull their audience away from the real world and bring them into the story.

4. A Night Away in New York City
My bridesmaids held my bachelorette party in the Big Apple and I absolutely loved it!  If you don't live close to New York and you care to travel there for the party, consider doing an overnight stay in a city that's more local to you!  Each city is unique and has plenty to offer when it comes to dining and entertainment, which brings me to my next suggestion...

5. Destination Bachelorette Party
Charleston, Boston, Mexico, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Hawaii... the options are endless if you're planning a destination bachelorette party!  This may be the most expensive idea on this list, so (like any other idea) be sure all the bridesmaids are financially prepared for a destination party.

6. Concert
This one may take some extra research and planning, but will always be worth it!  Does the bride-to-be have a favorite band or musician?  Check out their tour dates to see if they line up within the timeframe of her engagement, even if it means having the bachelorette party a little earlier than normal during the wedding planning timeline.

What are some other non-traditional bachelorette party ideas you've seen or done?  Comment below with your recommendations!
