Can I just say how in love I am with the work of today's featured vendor?  Ana, of Crafted. by Anamarie, is a talented calligrapher and one of my industry favorites!  Many of you know I have a soft spot in my heart for modern calligraphy and hand lettering, so I was super pumped to write this post about her.  While she mostly focuses on calligraphy, Anamarie is all kinds of crafty.  She was recently featured on CT Style for her DIY wedding favor ideas!  Ana and I have worked on a few projects together, and I'm so happy to finally introduce her to you!

1. What do you enjoy most about being a calligrapher?
"As a calligrapher, my job is extremely flexible—I get to work from home, a coffee shop or anywhere else my life takes me.  Every day I feel so blessed to be able to do what I love—I get to make really pretty things for a living—what is better than that?!"

2. What led you to becoming a calligrapher?
"From a young age I always had a good sense of design, but never really pursued it in my career.  I was working the corporate 9-5 for a few years, and eventually I just felt like there was something missing from my life.  I wanted a creative outlet, so with a good foundation of handwriting under my belt, I taught myself calligraphy and started Crafted. by Anamarie.  For a while it was just a "side hustle" and I never imagined being able to do it full time, at least not so soon.  Eventually I started an Etsy Shop, orders were coming in, and I realized I had something really good here."

3. What attracted you to the wedding industry?
"It's so rewarding to see my work used in weddings.  It's an event that a couple is going to treasure for the rest of their lives, and I feel lucky to get to be a part of it in some way."

4. How can calligraphy be used on the wedding day or other wedding-related events?
"Calligraphy is so versatile and can be used in so many different forms.  From wedding stationary such as invitations, place cards, wedding programs and menus, to wedding decor such as welcome signs, decorative quotes and table signage, the options are endless!"

5. What (or who) inspires your creativity?
"I am inspired by so many incredible creative professionals out there.  Through Instagram, I am able to follow their work, which in turn inspires me to work harder, pushes me out of my comfort zone and allows me to set goals for myself."
