Weddings today have become beautifully decorated and detail oriented.  With endless inspiration from Pinterest, couples have the opportunity to work with amazing event designers and stylists to make the dreams for their wedding day a reality!  Today I'm very excited to introduce my friend, Alonda Baird Juhasz, the creative designer behind ABstyled.  She is an event designer and prop stylist, and loves working with people who want to bring their design dreams to life for their wedding day!  Alonda and I met in early May when I photographed Jess and Cliff of The Confetti Bar, and recently collaborated on a fun project together (more on that in the future!).  I was blown away by her talent and sharp eye for detail.  To all of my couples thinking about working with an event designer for your wedding day, I say do it!  Alonda is definitely your girl!

What do you enjoy most about being an event designer?
"I love creating the real life fairy tale and telling a visual story infused with personalized details.  Creating an experience that a couple's guests can become a part of throughout the wedding celebration elevates the whole event.  That moment when we find the perfect concept and the heart starts beating faster is what makes it so exciting.  The whole aesthetic concept unfolds so naturally from there."

What led you to becoming a designer?
"I started with a focus on interior decorating, but fell in love with visual styling when I began working on styled photo shoots.  Building a concept and adding a fine art spin is my absolute passion.  Events are an interactive experience that merges art and celebration.  I have always been obsessed with details because that is what truly ties a concept together and makes an event so memorable."

What attracted you to the wedding industry?
"Flowers and champagne!  Two of my favorite things.  Weddings are celebrations that take extra time for details and over the top ideas.  It is a time to express yourself in petals, colors and all of the details that leave your guests swooning.  Building that theme and incorporating those details that will tie the whole event together is such a fun challenge.  It's a giant styled party - what's not to love?"

What is your favorite part about working with brides?
"I love getting to know them.  I love hearing about the things they have always dreamed of having in their wedding or the wild ideas they want to try.  It becomes such a personal experience when I listen to stories about what their grandmother's favorite flower is or the silly inside jokes that they have with their fiancé, which we can then incorporate into part of their day.  I want my brides to walk away feeling like she is on the set of her own fairytale."

What (or who) has inspired your creativity?
"Growing up, my mother threw me some of the most amazing birthday parties.  She always came up with a unique theme that would be carried on throughout the party, from flowers to favors.  No detail was ever overlooked.  It made the day that much more magical for me and my party guests.  That feeling of being immersed in my own magical set is what drives my passion."

As an event designer, what is one tip you would give to brides on their wedding day?
"This celebration is about you and your love story.  Immerse your guests in that story by being true to yourself.  Share those details that are meaningful to you.  And most importantly, go for it.  You want to wear pink instead of white?  Go for it.  You want to dance down the aisle?  Go for it.  This is your day to truly shine, so do the things that make you happy."
