Arturo and I had a blast with Nika and Javier during their Harbor Point engagement session in Stamford, Connecticut last month, and we knew their wedding day was going to be even more spectacular!  With an incredible team of vendors to pull their vision for a beautiful day together, this quickly became one of my favorite weddings!  Nika and Javier had an intimate wedding day, exchanging their vows among 40 of their closest friends and family at the Bedford Post Inn in Bedford, New York.  As soon as Arturo and I walked into the ceremony space, my eyes lit up as I looked around at all of the thoughtfully planned details!  With a color palette filled with blush, cream, mauve, sage, and gold, I could only imagine what was in store for the day!

Nika and Javier met for the first time almost a decade ago!  For years their paths crossed over and over again, but never in a romantic way.  Finally one day they met again, but things felt different for both of them.  Nika and Javier started spending more time together, getting to know each other in a way they never had in previous years.  Almost instantly they both realized the magnetic connection they shared!  During the next few months, Nika and Javier grew even closer, realizing that all of the run-ins over the years were leading them to each other.  This past spring, Javier asked Nika to be his wife while they were on a romantic getaway in North Carolina.  She said yes, leading them to their beautiful fall wedding!

Arturo and I were so excited Nika and Javier opted for a first look!  Despite the drizzle, we were able to find a small covered area outside before the rain really started to come down.  Luckily we were able to move into the Yoga Loft where their ceremony was going to take place to finish their portraits.  Their candlelit wedding ceremony setting was the perfect backdrop for some wonderfully romantic photos!!  Every detail was carefully thought of while bringing the most spectacular aspects of the couple, their personalities and their lives into their wedding day.  Javier is from Ecuador, so Nika found some wonderful cufflinks made from a map of his country for him to wear.  The couple wrote their own vows and exchanged some of the most romantic words of love and commitment (Javier even recited his vows in Spanish, another wonderful personal touch!).  As the two shared their first dance together, they sang the words of their song to each other.  I normally don't get too choked up during the first dance, but this one defintely brought a couple tears to my eyes!!  One of my favorite things about Nika and Javier's wedding day was that it truly felt like the melding of two people becoming one.  The love could definitely be felt by anyone who was part of the day!

If there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that Nika and Javier are a perfect match for each other.  They compliment each other in more ways than I can count and share a beautiful love together!  They're truly the definition of soulmates.  As Arturo and I were saying our goodbyes to the beautiful bride and groom that evening, Javier glanced across the dance floor, admiring Nika and her radiant smile, and said to us, "Every time I look at her, I'm so happy because I know she's now my wife!"

Nika and Javier, it was an honor to document your day!  Cheers to you both and your new life together!

I absolutely LOVE Nika's style!  These earrings had me swooning with the perfect touch of vintage-glam!

Javier belongs in GQ!

How sweet is that expression of surprise and amazement for the first look?!

How romantic is this ceremony space?!

The evening included a candle lighting ceremony in honor of Nika's father who passed last year and was definitely one of the sweetest parts of the evening.

They're MARRIED!!!  Cheers to the new Mr. & Mrs!

How incredible is this cake?!  Look at that detail!

Arturo and I really enjoyed how much Javier's Ecuadorian roots were incorporated into the wedding day.  I bet the hot chocolate made with this raw cacao is delicious!

A romantic candlelit first dance?  Yes please!
