I had my first chat with Ellen and Bobby over a FaceTime call last October and instantly adored them!  We met earlier this year for a cup of coffee where Ellen and I instantly bonded over our mutual love for guacamole.  Earlier this week I photographed their engagement session at Waveny Park in New Canaan, Connecticut where we were graced with the most beautiful sunset!  They brought along their adorable golden retriever pup, Piper, who was so well behaved during her time in front of the camera!  We walked around the perimeter of the park, chatting about their upcoming wedding which is definitely going to be one for the books!

Last September, Ellen and Bobby celebrated Labor Day weekend in Crescent Lake, Maine with Ellen's family.  After a whole day of boating and sunning on the lake, everyone showered and got changed for dinner.  Ellen went upstairs as Bobby was hanging out on the porch which she didn't give a second thought to.  Her sister in law, Alex, went outside to join Bobby; when she came back in Ellen asked her what he was doing out there.  Alex replied that Bobby was watching the sunset and commented on how beautiful it was.  Intrigued by the thought of a gorgeous sunset, Ellen headed outside to check it out for herself!  To her surprise, when she went outside there was no sunset in sight.  Bobby told her there would be a better view down in the yard by the lake because there were so many trees obstructing the view.  Ellen followed Bobby down into the yard, but she still couldn't see it.  After a few minutes of chatting she told him that she was going to head back inside to which Bobby replied, "Before you go back inside, I have something to ask you."  Before she realized what was happening, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!

These two sweet souls are celebrating their wedding day at The Longshore Pavilion in Norwalk, Connecticut this September and we cannot wait to see them tie the knot!

When did you know you'd found "the one"?

Ellen: "I'm not sure there was a specific time or thing that happened to make me realize but at some point I just realized I couldn't ever imagine a day without Bobby in my life and didn't want to!"

Bobby: "I don’t can’t think of a specific "a-ha” moment.  Over time, as my love for her continued to grow, I learned more and more how much our personalities and values and lives meshed, and I just knew this would work and she was the one."

What's one thing you love about your partner?

Ellen: "His sense of humor.  He can always make me laugh even when I am annoyed with him and don't want to laugh!"

Bobby: "Her sense of humor and also her brutal honesty, even when I don’t want to hear it."

Besides getting married, what is one thing you're looking forward to on your wedding day?

Ellen: "I can't wait for the moment at the church when Bobby will be standing up on the altar and I will appear with my dad at the top of the aisle.  I think when we first make eye contact it will be a really special moment!  Besides that, I am really looking forward to the reception and a night of dancing with all of our favorite people!"

Bobby: "Spending time with our closest friends and family in the world and having a day that revolves around us."

What's one thing you're looking forward to about marriage?

Ellen: "I am looking forward to all the adventures we will experience together.  Whether those adventures mean travel, kids, moves, etc.  I think it's always nice to know that you have someone to walk through everything together."

Bobby: "I'm looking forward to continued adventures and trips, starting a family, making forever memories and always laughing."
