When I sat down to write about Alli and Tim’s wedding day, I really had to take the time to organize all of the thoughts swirling in my head! Their day was absolutely beautiful, starting with a first look and wedding ceremony at Edgerton Park, followed by an incredible party at The Graduate Club near the Yale University campus in New Haven, Connecticut. Everything about Alli and Tim’s wedding day was intentional and thoughtfully planned. The best way to describe their wedding style is a mix of vintage and modern styles that flowed together seamlessly. Each element of their day was a true reflection of who they are individually and a couple!

AN EDGERTON PARK WEDDING CEREMONY

Tim is from Portland, Oregon, also known as “The City of Roses”. For this reason, the two decided on roses, peonies (my favorite!), and plenty of greenery for their wedding day florals. As a true tribute to Tim, Alli added a deep red garden rose to her stunning bridal bouquet. I still can’t get over Alli’s bridal style, especially her BHLDN gown… I loved its vintage, art-deco vibes!

Alli and Tim shared a romantic first look just outside the greenhouse at Edgerton Park. They soaked in those sweet moments of seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day while embracing tightly and holding each other close. The two were filled with nothing but joy during their romantic portraits!

After photographing them with their wedding party, we headed over to the Carriage House for the ceremony. Tim and Alli’s wedding ceremony was a hybrid of Episcopal tradition and their own writings. As Alli and Tim took their first steps together and walked up the aisle, their guests tossed olive leaves at the new Mr. & Mrs. The olive leaves are a symbol of peace and new beginnings in the Mennonite Church, which Tim is a part of.

THE GRADUATE CLUB WEDDING RECEPTION

The heartfelt details didn’t stop there… Tim and Alli’s reception decor was equally as thoughtful! Much of the table decorations were eco-friendly and environmental elements, like recycled amber bottles, while they used other repurposed decorations for the hall, and recyclable favors. The red wine that was served was a gift from Alli’s father; it was something he bought over a decade ago and had been saving for her wedding day! Knowing Alli and Tim, their wedding reception was a very true-to-them celebration.

THE LOVE STORY

Alli and Tim met while at Yale Divinity School while receiving their masters (be sure to check out their Yale Divinity School engagement session!). Their first conversation happened at GPSCY, the grad student bar where they each spent a lot of time singing karaoke and hanging out on the patio. One night Tim and his roommates were playing pool with Alli and her friend, Nicole, when Tim stepped outside and Alli followed. They shared a long conversation, which eventually led them to have a beautiful friendship. They spent a lot of time together studying at Bass Library, writing papers at The Owl Shop, and of course socializing at GPSCY. As you can tell, the city of New Haven is deeply rooted in their relationship! Their friendship naturally grew over time into a romantic relationship, which led to their first date: watching the Trailblazers Basketball game at a local gastropub. Their friendship and companionship go hand-in-hand as their feelings for each other only grow stronger as more time passes!

These two headed to Greece yesterday for two weeks to enjoy their honeymoon! We couldn’t have asked for a better couple to kick off our June weddings with. Congratulations Alli and Tim!!

I loved Alli’s vintage style! She was a beautiful bride!

This portrait location couldn’t have been a more perfect fit for Tim!

Alli and Tim shared the most beautiful first look and truly took in these special moments with each other. They embraced and held one another close, forehead to forehead. It was one of our favorite parts of the day!

Would you ever guess these portraits were taken in the middle of a city park?! Look at that beautiful light!

Tim and Alli’s wedding party was such a great group of people!

The rug Alli and Tim stood on during their wedding ceremony is from the living room of their home!

The new Mr. & Mrs. Gannett!

I was SO excited to finally have the opportunity to photograph some wedding portraits at a few of my favorite spots on the campus of Yale University!

How adorable are these two?!

I hope you enjoyed this wedding at Edgerton Park and The Graudate Club!  Do you know Alli and Tim?  Show the newlyweds some love by commenting below!
