With only their immediate family members as witnesses, Patrick and Ashley exchanged their vows at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye, New York earlier this month! A few weeks ago, Ashley reached out to Arturo and me explaining that she and Patrick had decided to elope with their parents and siblings present. We have an equal love for large wedding celebrations and intimate ones, so we absolutely LOVED hearing what Patrick and Ashley were planning to do! 2019 is turning out to be a wonderful year for these sweethearts; not only did they get married, but they’re also expecting a baby boy later this year!

A RYE, NEW YORK WEDDING

There were so many special, intimate moments that Arturo and I enjoyed documenting on this beautiful wedding day. Typically our couples get ready separately before their first look, but Ashley and Patrick opted to get ready together at The Ritz-Carlton in White Plains, New York. Ashley helped her future husband with his tie, while he clasped on her heirloom jewelry. We enjoyed the fact that they were both able to feel calm and relaxed on such a special day in their lives!

Since Patrick and Ashley had spent the morning together, they decided to do a first look with their families before their wedding ceremony. This was one of our favorite parts of the day to photograph, especially since everyone showed such sweet emotion and excitement for the bride and groom! Their family members ooh-ed and ahh-ed at Ashley and Patrick, who had walked up behind them, before coming together to exchange hugs, kisses, and well wishes.

Their wedding ceremony was relaxed and laid back; the priest even managed to make all of us laugh several times! All six of their family members sat together in the same pew, watching as two of the people they love most in the world shared their first kiss and became husband and wife! Patrick and Ashley’s wedding day was truly an event of two families becoming one.

After the ceremony, we made our way to Binney Park in Greenwich, Connecticut for some newlywed portraits. Arturo and I found the perfect portrait location in front of the pond with the most fantastic light! In just 15 minutes, we were able to snap plenty of romantic portraits of Ashley and Patrick. These two say they’re not photogenic, but I beg to differ. Wait until you see their newlywed photos, I think you’ll agree with me!
