Christmas Engagement Session in Westport, CT | Amanda & Kyle

The Christmas season is our favorite time of the year; there’s just something extra romantic about the beautiful decorations and lights that flood the streets of our New England towns and storefronts. When Amanda and Kyle mentioned that they wanted to have their engagement photos taken during the holiday season with wondrous lights and decor surrounding them, who were Arturo and I to argue?! We met up with Kyle and Amanda in Downtown Westport, Connecticut which is quaintly decorated for Christmas. Strands of garland dance around the light poles and arches of the walkways as wreaths with red bows are scattered among the storefront windows and doors. We lucked out with some golden winter light, which only added to the romance of the session! Amanda mentioned to me that Kyle really wooed her in the beginning of their relationship when he played guitar for her, so Arturo and I were super excited that he brought it along to their engagement session and played a few songs!

Amanda and Kyle’s favorite vacation spot is Disney World in Orlando, Florida. This fall, the two were enjoying a Disney vacation with friends and decided to have dinner one evening in Belle & Beast’s Castle at Magic Kingdom. After dinner was over, their friends suggested they take a photo in front of the mosaic stained glass window before leaving the castle. Much to Amanda’s surprise, Kyle got down on one knee and proposed!

Amanda and Kyle have shared eight beautiful years of their lives together and will be getting married in October at Farmington Gardens! We know their day is going to be an absolute blast and cannot wait to celebrate these two!

When did you know you'd found "the one"?

Amanda: “I knew Kyle was the one during our first significant stint apart. We started dating in college (we were both in Massachusetts), and at the time my family lived in Texas and Kyle’s in Connecticut. That first summer we were separated our relationship truly stood the test of distance and the saying goes ‘your heart does grow fonder’.”

Kyle: “I’m not sure that there was a specific instance in time for me, but it was more the realization that I couldn’t imagine my life without Amanda. She truly brings joy to every day of my life.”

What's one thing you love about your partner?

Amanda: “Kyle has perfect blue eyes… it’s honestly what drew me to him in the first place. On the inside he’s incredibly smart and caring.”

Kyle: “Amanda has a moral compass that always points true north. She is genuinely a good soul and that is reflected in the way that she is able to draw people to her.”

Besides getting married, what is one thing you're looking forward to on your wedding day?

Amanda: “I am looking forward to celebrating with our loved ones. I am so thankful for everyone who loves and supports us. Our wedding day is going to be a great day to just say ‘We love you too!’.”

Kyle: “For me it’s the three “F’s”: food, family, and forever. Being able to share that day with the people that we love most. And of course a good steak.”

What's one thing you're looking forward to about marriage?

Amanda: “I am most looking forward to the future of “firsts” we have ahead. Our marriage is the beginning to our wonderful life and I can’t wait to see what’s in store.”

Kyle: “Being able to refer to Amanda as my wife is something that I’ve been looking forward to for a long time!”
