We had the most beautiful evening for Amanda and Brandon's engagement session last weekend at Walnut Beach in Milford. I have to admit, this beach is becoming one of my favorite locations for engagement sessions in southwestern Connecticut. The sunsets are always beautiful and never seem to disappoint!
Less than 24 hours after Brandon proposed, Amanda sent me the sweetest message filled with excitement asking us to be her wedding photographers! Amanda is a classmate of mine from college when we were both photography majors, so to say I was doubly honored she wanted Arturo and me to document their big day had us over the moon! I'm so thankful that we had the engagement session to get to know Brandon a little more and see how perfect he is for Amanda in so many respects. They compliment each other in more ways than I can count, and it's absolutely beautiful!
One morning in early October, Brandon and Amanda were leaving their apartment for work. It was one of the rare mornings that Brandon wasn't able to drive Amanda to the train station because he had an early meeting... or so she thought! As they drove their separate ways to begin the day, little did she know that he turned right back around to await a package from FedEx with her engagement ring inside! That evening when Amanda got off the train, she called Brandon to let him know she was on her way home. He told her that he had a late call to be on for work but would see her when she arrived home. Amanda then called her mom to pass the time in the car. When she arrived home, she opened the garage door and to find a bouquet of roses sitting on a table. Still on the phone with her mom she said, "Aww, Brandon got me flowers... Why did he put them in the garage?! Now I have to carry this upstairs!" Slightly confused, Amanda approached the table and saw a note. She told her mom she would call her back and began to read the note. It said, "I know how much you love stories, but there is one I have never told you... Read all of the notes before proceeding, don't skip one!" By this point, Amanda was even more confused, looking around the garage for more notes unable to find any! She proceeded inside and immediately discovered another note at the bottom of the stairs with "A & B" written on the envelope. As she turned the corner there was a trail of envelopes with love letters inside leading all the way up the stairs!! Inside each note, Brandon wrote about different parts of their love story, being sure to write about the moment he knew he loved her. In the last note he wrote to Amanda, Brandon told her he'd love her for the rest of her life. After she read the last note, Amanda opened up the door to find Brandon down on one knee with the most beautiful engagement ring asking for her hand in marriage!!! By this time she couldn't hold back the tears! Though Brandon barely got any words out, "I love you, will you marry me?" was all Amanda needed to remember!
These two sweethearts are tying the knot at the Fox Hill Inn in Brookfield, Connecticut next November. We're so excited to see them become husband and wife!!
When did you know you'd found "the one"?
Amanda: "Falling in love with Brandon was one of the easiest things I ever did. It didn't take long to realize how much we had in common, how much he made me laugh and smile, and how indescribably happy he makes me. I remember one night I turned to him and shared how "easy" it all felt being with one another. How it all felt so perfect and natural like it was meant to be and how incredible it felt to have found my soulmate. The fact we shared the same common goals and came from the similar backgrounds... I just knew he was the other piece to my puzzle (we love puzzles) and he is what makes me whole."
Brandon: "Two moments! First, when Amanda wanted to go on a date to the diner one weekend and we did the WonderWord, that's what I love to do on the weekends. And we talked for hours. The second was when she told me she'd be a Miami Dolphins fan for me."
What's one thing you love about your partner?
Amanda: "There are far too many things that I love about Brandon for me to pick just one. He is the kindest and most generous person I know. He shows me he loves me every single day in so many ways and makes me feel like the most incredible and luckiest woman in the world. "
Brandon: "Amanda has a great heart. She always sees the best in people and is kind to everyone. I love that about her."
Besides getting married, what's one thing you're looking forward to on your wedding day?
Amanda: "I am looking forward to seeing Brandon's face when he sees me for the first time as his bride. I am looking forward to holding back the tears of joy I know I won't be able to hide very well. I am looking forward to being surrounded by our family and friends to celebrate this special day. I am looking forward to saying "I Do" and kissing my groom. I am looking forward to having and sharing in all of the Jewish traditions on our big day. 11/11/18 can't come soon enough."
Brandon: "When Amanda walks down the aisle. That moment will last in my memory forever."
What's one thing you're looking forward to about marriage?
Amanda: "I am looking forward to sharing all of life's moments as husband and wife (and sharing his last name). I am looking forward to growing this wonderful little life we have already started to build together. No matter where we are and no matter what happens I know everything will always be perfect because we will have each other."
Brandon: "Being able to share all of life's joys and adventures with the love of my life."
