When Rose and Chris chose to do their engagement session at Twin Brooks Park in Trumbull I was ecstatic!! Arturo and I did our first look at this same park just over three years ago, and it brought back so many beautiful memories for me! The fall foliage is at its peak right now, making the trees an even more beautiful backdrop to Rose and Chris's engagement portraits! We walked around the park, chatting about their love story and wedding plans. Through conversation, it turns out Chris went to the sister school of my university! We were both art majors (he graphic design and I photography), and it turns out he's quite the oil painter!! I'm totally envious of his drive and talent when it comes to painting, something I definitely lacked in my college painting classes. Rose and Chris are two hard working individuals and are totally driven by their love for each other. I'm telling you, it's the sweetest!!
In November 2016, Chris asked Rose to be his wife! Rose knew the proposal was going to be coming soon because Chris had taken her grandmother's diamonds that she had left Rose to make a beautiful new engagement ring (you guys know I love family heirlooms, so this part of their proposal story pulled at my heartstrings!)!! One day last fall, the two went to their local aquarium, one of Rose's favorite places to visit. She loves watching the sea lions, which they made sure to do before leaving the aquarium that day. Before making their way back to the car, Rose and Chris went for a little walk along the nearby river. Chris got down on one knee to propose, but Rose didn't notice and kept walking! When she realized he wasn't next to her (Rose had walked at least 25 yards ahead of him!), she turned around, saw Chris on one knee and ran back in his direction! Just then, snowflakes began to gently fall from the sky. Is this story straight out of a Hollywood movie or what?!
These two are getting married at Tashua Knolls next September in Trumbull, Connecticut. Arturo and I are so excited to celebrate them!
When did you know you'd found "the one"?
Rose: "I like to joke around... I knew found the one when I let him pick out the kind of pizza we were going to have on our first date (everyone who knows me knows I'm extremely picky!). I was never nervous around him; everything felt natural."
Chris: "The first time she didn't let me give up on something. She always says I'm better than that. I'd rather have a woman push me than let me settle."
What's one thing you love about your partner?
Rose: "It's cliché, but I love that he's my best friend. Also the fact that we can talk through facial expressions sometimes!"
Chris: "Visually her style and beauty. She's comforting and makes me feel safe no matter what is going on around us!"
Besides getting married, what's one thing you're looking forward to on your wedding day?
Rose: "I'm excited to start this new chapter for the first time together with everyone we love around us."
Chris: "Getting to have a family reunion and a joyous day with everyone who we love."
What's one thing you're looking forward to about marriage?
Rose: "Since we live together, in a way I hope our lives still feel the same. I also hope to have the most intimate bond two people can have together."
Chris: "I look forward to getting to build a family and watch ourselves grow overtime while having new experiences."
