Last August, my younger sister, Sam, and her boyfriend, Jon, moved clear across the country to Portland, Oregon. Sammy had wanted to move to the Pacific Northwest since she was thirteen (maybe even younger!), and last year, her wishes finally came true. The two packed up, drove across the country with the dog, and settled in their new home on the west coast. Last week, after more than 11 months, I finally made it out to see them, thanks to a sweet surprise plane ticket from Arturo!
During my week-long visit, we drove to the coast of Oregon for some sightseeing in Seaside and Cannon Beach. The drive along the coast is SO different than the coast here in Connecticut! With tall cliffs and huge rocks jetting out of the ocean, I was in complete awe! Seeing as Sam and Jon will be celebrating their 10 Year Anniversary together later this month, I thought it as a perfect excuse for an Anniversary Session overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Oswald West State Park. We hiked about a half mile down to the beach, through a forest with some of the biggest evergreen trees I've ever seen in my life! The path followed along a small river, which we later discovered flowed right into the ocean.
One of my favorite parts of Sam and Jon's story is that they're high school sweethearts! They started dating ten years ago, when Sam was a freshman and Jon was a sophomore. Their relationship quickly grew serious, and the rest is history. Happy Anniversary Sam and Jon! Wishing you another wonderful ten!
As we left the park and started our 2-hour drive back home, we came across some beautiful farmlands! Naturally, the photographer in me couldn't resist placing these two lovebirds in a couple of my shots for some amazing sunset photos!
Don't miss the rest of my photos from this fabulous trip!
